Jennifer Herzig

Master of Music Violin Performance, Longy School of Music (Cambridge, MA)

Bachelor of Music, Violin Performance, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Champaign, IL)

Jennifer (Ms. Jenny to her students!) Herzig has been performing and teaching professionally for over 12 years.  In 2019, she relocated to Trophy Club from the greater Boston area, where she worked as a freelance violinist for several professional orchestras as well as an instructor and program coordinator for a private music school called Music 101 Studios. During her tenure at Music 101, she worked with many amazing piano and violin students, coached small ensembles, and mentored other instructors. She pioneered new learning opportunities for the students including an online listening center, a small ensemble program, a series of educational mini-concerts, and interactive music theory courses. Through this work, she developed a passion for helping people of all ages discover more about music (and themselves) through engaging musical experiences. She has enjoyed continuing this work here in Texas over the past few years while building a life here with her husband and two young children.

What it’s like to work with Ms. Jenny

“Jenny is one of the most gifted instructors I have had the pleasure of working with over the past decade. She has found a way to balance all that is required of a student to become a successful musician while keeping lessons enjoyable and engaging.  Students are inspired to give their best and continue with studies indefinitely under her guidance.”

-Tanya Pellecchia, music instructor and owner of Music 101 Studios (Melrose, MA)

“Our son took violin with Ms. Jenny for over five years. She is a dedicated, patient, and talented teacher. She kept our son engaged and motivated, not only through lessons, but also through her monthly newsletter, ensembles, and classes. She worked with him on theory and helped him explore the musical aspects of each piece he learned to play. Through Ms. Jenny’s teaching, our son developed appreciation, knowledge, and love for classical music. We are grateful for the privilege of getting to know her.”
